Among the roots of newly planted Holm Oaks, Tuber Melanosporum, the Winter Black truffle, is beginning its long, slow journey.

Once part of the original Craggy Range Station, our family has farmed this land since 1946. I grew up here, and now my own children roam the same paddocks. 

The farm carries on around us, but in one small corner something new is taking root. It’s a long-term project, with the hope of one day growing something truly extraordinary and sharing a very special piece of Hawke’s Bay with others.

For me, the growing matters as much as the finding. Follow along to see the farm grow.
